The Count of Monte Cristo

I've wanted to read this ever since I first watched the movie.
 It did not disappoint. :)
It was a little long at parts...but worth it.

Some of my favorite quotes:

Is anything ever lost to mankind?  The arts and sciences travel around the world, things change their name, that's all, and ordinary people are deceived by it.

He is a father before He is a judge.

There is neither happiness nor misfortune in this world, there is merely the comparison between one state and another, nothing more.  Only someone who has suffered the deepest misfortune is capable of experiencing the heights of felicity.

One must take the world as it is.

Now to watch the movie again! :)
